| Under 11 Blue Sox | 2 |
| Glinton Utd Red | 4 |
hello and welcome to this final report for the 2011/12 season,
firstly we must congratulate the managers, Stuart Martin and John, without their time dedication and enthuasism Sawtry Blue socks would not be, so thank you from the whole of the supporting parents.
Also a fantastic well done to the boys, who each week have turned out, played in all weathers, and at times knocked a few goals in, and although losing most weeks have come back week after week and shown their own true colours by playing as best they could, so well done to all the boys.
Now, to the match,,,,,,
well, playing against Glinton following on from last weeks game, sawtry came out strong and kept Glinton on the back foot, the lads playing so well knocking the ball around, passing making space, and holding their own against a Glinton side, who came expecting to thrash the pants off Sawtry, this wasn't to be, Sawtry holding firm until Glinton sneaked a goal in on the 27th minute.
On the half Sawtry went in 2-0 down.
Starting the second half , Sawtry coming out strong, see's the ball drop to the foot of Sam L, who from 105 yards ( actually just over the half way line), see's the Glinton keeper off his line, lofts the ball skyward with tremendous venom, watches as the ball bounces in the oppositions half, over the keepers head and into the back of the net, a fantastic lob if ever i've seen one. The lads rally round Sam who accepts the plaudits graciously. Well done Sam L a cracking goal.
the score 2-1, Glinton then score another to go 3-1 up, Sawtry still playing well, the ball being played from end to end when James P takes a swift pass to him on the half way line, travels with ball, past one player towards goal, see's the keeper come to him, throws a dummy and slots the ball to the keepers left to take the score to 3-2, well done to James P for a goal well taken.
From the start Glinton knock another one in to end the gane 4-2 victors.
Man of the Match is Matty V for his good play and having a half in goal so Jack B could struct his stuff on the pitch .
Well done to all, see you next season.
