A fledgling bunch of boys came together in 2003 as a very young U6 to train with a view to becoming a team within the Sawtry Colts banner. Manager was Nina Constantine with Rob McGregor agreeing to take over following the U7 season.
At U7 the lads played at the Embankment tournaments every fortnight with varied success, winning on a couple of occasions.
Rob took charge for the U8 season in the Hunts Mini-Soccer League where the boys breezed through unbeaten; if it hadn't been non-competitive, they would have easily won the league. It was decided to play in the more competitive Peterborough Junior Alliance League at U9 level; with only 1 defeat, the league was won at the first attempt.
U10 proved a bit more difficult, we came 3rd in a strong league which decided which division we would be placed in for the U11 (11 a-side) season.
We were placed in a very tough Division 1 full of good sides; we finished a reasonable 6th, and also had a good run in the County Cup.
U12 Season proved difficult with some lads still living off the early successes. We lost 4 very high profile players during the year which proved the difference. The lads we brought in were good prospects for the future, but not ready to play in a highly competitive Division 1. We were relegated to Div 2; an opportunity to re-group and develop.
